Iantha Contemplating Scene Changes (BSA 127)
Iantha Contemplating Scene Changes
There is a scene in my animation when Iantha starts to look outside of her window while contemplating about her life. As she has been held as a captive by the kraken for a long time, she is waiting for a young man to rescue her from her miserable life.
I made couple of different pictures in my animatic for Iantha scene, and I found that when I start to animating it, it doesn't work. Since the gap between one picture and another is quite significant, so I decided to make a new drawing which stays constant until the rest of her scene. These are the pictures from my animatic (for Iantha scene only):
As you can see the drawings are totally different from one another (even her face as well), so I decided to draw a new one, which looks like this:
I made couple of facial expression changes in the last several frames so that she looks more alive and natural. She is starting to furrowed her eyebrows, close her eyes then open it again with a sadder expression. I did some research for this part as well, because I don't want her expression turns out to look funny even though she is in sad mood, and this tutorial helps me:

In the first term, I had an assignment related to facial expression as well, so I think I gain more knowledge in how to create several different interesting character's expression (sad, happy, surprise, scared) and while doing experiments.
On the next post, I will discuss the process of when I'm animating her scene while she is contemplating :)
