Animation Directors (BSA 106)

Animation Directors
Hi guys!!! Winter has started as well as another term. The weather is not really friendly actually, every morning is freezing cold and you can see bunch of ice on the road which is very slippery. But, that's alright haha! For my presentation assignment in another few months

Chris Buck
The animation director of Frozen and Tarzan

Chris Buck is a famous director known for his works at Disney such as Tarzan, Surf's Up, and the world's ninth highest grossing film of all time, "Frozen". As a child, he was inspired by Disney's movie Pinocchio and later on continued his study of character animation at California Institutes of Arts.

In directing Frozen, he is co-directing with Jennifer Lee which is an American screenwriter and film director. Both of them are working together for the second time for their next new film, Frozen 2.

Tim Burton
The director of Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie, and The Nightmare Before Christmas

As the eight highest grossing director worldwide, Tim Burton brings a lot of impact in the film industry. Most of his works are relevant to horror and more kind of ghothic theme, mixtures between animation and real life movies. Some of his well-known stop motion animation movies are Corpse Bride (2005) and Frankenweenie (2012) which have a very touching good moral in the end.

Hayao Miyazaki
A Japanese animator, film director, author, screenwriter, and the co-founder of Studio Ghibli.

He is known for his amazing storytelling (mostly fantasy) and incredible works such as Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away which all of them are 2D animation. Miyazaki first employed at Toei Animation in 1963 and has been working as an animator, concept artist, and scene designer since then.
